Salisbury is part of a humid subtropical climate zone. Winters tend to be cool but milder than other parts of the U.S., and the season tends to be short. However, overnight lows typically fall below the freezing point, and residents will need to invest in a heat pump or furnace in order to keep interior temperatures comfortable during these times.

Salisbury and the rest of the Charlotte area are in the direct path of subtropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, brining high humidity and ample precipitation to the area throughout the year. Summers tend to be hot and muggy, with about 45 days per year experiencing temperatures in excess of 90 degrees. To stay cool and avoid heat-related illnesses, it is important that residents have access to an interior climate control system.
