About Hickory, NC - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Found primarily within Catawba County, North Carolina, Hickory is the principal city within the Hickory-Lenoir-Morganton Metro Statistical Area. As of 2010, the community was home to just over 40,000 residents. Hickory has won the All-America City award three times, the most recent of which was in 2007, acknowledging the community’s ability to resolve critical local issues together. There are several institutions of higher learning located here, including Lenoir-Rhyne University, Catawba Valley Community College, and a satellite campus of Gardner-Webb University.  Currently, the community is home to numerous top manufacturers for fiber optic cable, pressure-sensitive tape, and furniture, so job opportunities are plentiful in the region.

As one of the largest cities in the area, Hickory is home to several noteworthy attractions and things to do. Hickory is a retail hub for the region, and it is home to one of the largest shopping malls in the area: Valley Hills Mall. Sport and racing fans may enjoy checking out a game for Texas Rangers baseball affiliate the Hickory Crawdads or seeing a race at the Hickory Motor Speedway. The Hickory Museum of Art is a popular destination for art enthusiasts, and other notable attractions in the area include the Hickory Community Theatre, Bakers Mountain Park, and the Downtown Hickory Farmers Market.

Weather conditions in Hickory will vary throughout the year, which is typical of a humid subtropical climate zone. Average high temperatures in July, the hottest month of the year, reach about 88 degrees, although thermostat readings well into the 90s are very common. Air conditioning systems are a necessity to stay safe during this time.

January is the coolest month of the year, but average high temperatures still reach about 49 degrees. However, average lows fall below the freezing point, and while the community only receives about six inches of snow per season, conditions can quickly become dangerous. Residents are wise to invest in a heat pump or furnace to stay safe during these colder days.
