About Stony Point, NC - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Stony Point, North Carolina is a small, census designated place located in Iredell and Alexander Counties. As of 2010, the total population was about 1,400, and the community is part of the Hickory-Lenoir-Morganton Metro Statistical Area. Stony Point is also small geographically, consisting of only about three square miles of total area, and there are only three schools located here:  Stony Point Elementary, East Alexander Middle School, and Alexander Central High School.

As a small community, Stony Point isn’t home to many notable attractions, although there are a few local stores here like Stony Point Hardware and General Store and Mack’s Pharmacy. Fortunately, the community is a quick drive to other attractions in the area. Neighboring Hiddenite is home to Rocky Face Mountain Recreational Area and the Hiddenite Gems Emerald Hollow Mine. Golfing is also popular to the east in Statesville at courses like River Oaks Golf Club and Larkin Golf Club, and families looking to do something together might want to visit the Marquee Cinema Statesville.

Throughout much of the year, Stony Point residents will rely on climate control systems in order to stay safe. In the summer, air conditioning units are crucial, as conditions tend to be hot and humid, with weather patterns emerging into the area from the Gulf of Mexico. High temperatures average in the upper-80s, but many days experience thermostat readings in excess of 90 degrees. This could be an especially tough time for people with allergies and other respiratory conditions, and an efficient air conditioning unit can help with this.

During the winter, temperatures tend to be cool with highs in the 40s, but thermostat readings will plummet at night. A heat pump or furnace is crucial to keep interior climates warm during this time. Without these safeguards in place, plumbing and pipework could be at risk of freezing.
